MechCommander is a new real-time action strategy game of tactical combat and resource management set in the stunningly detailed BattleTech universe. The player assumes the role of a MechCommander, in command of a growing unit of MechWarriors and their assigned 'Mechs. The goal is to retake the planet Port Arthur from the technologically superior Smoke Jaguar Clan.
Players manage supplies, repair, upgrade, and organise the entire 'Mech unit. The user interface can be customised offering the player limitless command options, allowing for a unique view into the BattleTech universe. Up to 12 'Mechs are involved in combat during 30 in-depth missions. Players select from 18 different chassis and custom armament.

1) Command up to 12 individual MechWarriors against dozens of enemy 'Mechs, Elementals armoured vehicles and fortified emplacements. Each pilot has its own identity, including various skills and combat instincts that improve over time under your influence.
2) Take responsibility for the conditions of your 'Mechs and MechWarriors as they carry forward from mission to mission.
3) Repair, upgrade and customise your entire unit. Buy new 'Mechs, weapons, sensors and MechWarriors with resource points gained from winning missions.
4) Salvage advanced enemy technology from the battlefield to gain superior combat ability.
5) View smooth in-game animation with each 'Mech alone created with over 100,000 frames - yes you read correct, 100,000!
6) Evolving background campaign continues over time, providing a sense of urgency and the feeling of being involved in large unit action.
7) Multiplayer capabilities include local area network and modem options. MechCommander is a part of the BattleTech universe, which has a rich, unparalleled depth of story, integrity and over 15 years of development.

1) Capture buildings in order to operate enemy turrets against the opposition, as well as take advantage of 'Mech repair bays, sensor control towers and much more.
2) Eject pilots from their 'Mechs when they suffer too much damage or injury.
3) Zoom into the battlefield view to gain a clearer view of the fight.
4) Order artillery strikes against moving and stationary targets.
5) Destroy highly volatile objects such as fuel trucks or gas tanks and watch the whole area explode, maiming or destroying 'Mechs in the area.
